Matched betting and making risk free profits have been the buzzwords over the past few years and I’ve heard some great stories from those who have banked thousands from this form of no risk betting?
Mаtched bеtting, for those who are unaware of this craze, is a bеtting technique used by individuals to profit from the free bets and incentives offered by bookmakers. It’s also known as back or lay bet matching, or double bеtting. It is generally considered risk-free as it is based on the application of a mathematical equation rather than chance.
I can imagine you can make thousands if you have good record keeping skills and still have access to many different bookie accounts, but is there longevity in it?
When I dabbled in this for a brief period many years ago one thing it highlighted was the very poor value bookies offer. This became apparent when trying to find a close match between Bookies and exchanges.
I once tried it when Betbright opened online and they offered a £30 free bet sign up offer. Having opened an account I then looked to place that free £30 as a back bet with Betbright and look for the closet match on Betfair to lay off and lock in as much profit as possible. However by the time I had laboriously found one with the closet price match my free money was reduced to just £18 from a potential £30!
Of course I couldn’t complain at a risk free £18 but goes to show what poor value prices on the backing side this bookie was offering. Its not just Betbright, there are many others as well.
The only real help in finding the closest match quickly and in automated fashion was with the help of software from Mike Cruickshank’s Bonus Bagging and Profit Maximsier. However by the time I heard of these I was already restricted by every bookie on the planet so it was a pointless exercise for me really.
On the bright side if you haven’t been restricted you should really take a look at these services and as you know I’m also keen on his new service ‘Advantage Play Secrets’ where one of the methods called the ‘ Betfair’s Matched Bettors Exploit’ requires no bookies and so could be a godsend if like me you have been given the Spanish elbow by bookies. However you will need to wait for the doors to reopen – hopefully in the new year.
By the way I did try logging in to one of my old accounts on Saturday to see if my years of absence somehow reset my account so I could bet unrestricted. Here it is below;
As you can see above on entering a £30 stake an information box popped up to say maximum stake for this selection is £0.75. Therefore sadly nothing has changed. Well we can always live in hope.
