Hope you all had a great festive period and have managed to dry out over recent days.

I’ve needed jump leads to get going since New Years Day but will give it a try by starting off in a low gear and moving up slowly.

We had no joy in the King George, but as mentioned the winner Mite Bite was a worthy favourite but a tad too short in price for me considering the line up. However it transpired none of the dangers lived up to form with 50/1 second and a 20/1 third and these races do happen albeit rarely.

Thistlecrack ran a better race than I expected after his disappointing run at Newbury and signs are he could be coming back to his old self and if that’s the case he is back on my shortlist for Cheltenham.

Even his trainer Colin Tizzard was overjoyed after being beaten by just under 6 lengths by Mite Bite.

Joe Tizzard was asked if he thought the hero of the now Stayers’ Hurdle in 2016 could defy his current best quote of 16-1and win the Gold Cup, Joe said: “On the visual evidence of what we saw in the King George, yes I do.”

Personally I wouldn’t go that far but the 16/1 has now gone with a best priced 12/1 on offer and even that does appeal if he continues to put in further  decent performances between now and then. Who knows what would have happened if he hadn’t clouted the fence two out and my hunch is he could of finished a close up second.

Nigel Twiston Davies’s horses seem to be firing on all cylinders at present with 2 winners at Cheltenham’s New Years day meeting including Wholestone in the Grade 2 Relkeel Hurdle, this despite his Bristol De Mai having a disappointing run in the King George.

It will be interesting to see if the rest of his festival hopes can be kept on the boil two from now which is the job of all trainers between now and the festival mid March.

What Are Your Plans?

Yes it’s that time of year when plans for 2018 are uppermost in our minds. It’s a great time to start thinking about what route you plan to take in regards to making your betting/trading profits. Whether it’s to specialise in a niche sporting area you are interested in, research and develop your own strategy or follow a well established tipster. Whichever route you choose there are plenty of options out there and my mission will be to steer you in the right direction in 2018.

Not forgetting all the free stuff available on my Testing Pod where our guest system developer Les Robson and myself look to test angles we feel may have longevity for making some nice profits in a low risk way and from small betting banks.

Two trials are on there at present and you can follow both of the them daily – for free. Gladly both are in profit so far and both are detailed below.

Both Teams To Score (BTTS)

It’s been pretty quiet over the Xmas period and we are now into month 4

of this test where the aim is to make 1 point profit per day.

Check in daily to see the selections from this link below:

Race for the Place….

Here we again aim for 1pt profit per day from a maximum of two selections playing in the horse racing place markets.

It has already achieved the 6 point profit target for Month 1 and why not follow it daily for month 2 whether to small stakes or just paper trade.
