As you know Tipsters come and go over time hence why in my early years I was always on the lookout for a mechanical price and filter based system that did not rely on any third party.

After all it would be pretty deflating to follow a profitable service for years on end only for the service provider to then decide to pull the plug for one reason or another.

In saying that don’t let me stop you from joining a service as there are good ones out there that work hard for their clients. However run them alongside a few mechanical systems so in the event they do disappear you still have back up until you find another decent service to add.

When considering a portfolio it would be a good idea to add a service for periods when you do not have the time to operate your mechanical type system/s. That way you will always keep your portfolio hopefully moving in the right direction and keep your interest in the game alight.

It’s a common problem that many gamblers/traders experience and it’s also a way to keep going when one service hits a bad patch. If you have several angles in your armoury then you have many options to take and that can only be a good thing for long term longevity of your overall ‘profit from betting plan’.

So using good quality tipsters does have its place if you’re pushed for time and/or you want to add to your portfolio.

The Derby 2018 Ante Post Tips….

Aidan O’ Brien has a wealth of talent as per usual in the big Group 1 races and his Gustav Klimt has been targeted for the 1000 Guineas this coming season. However looking at his breeding he looks likely to stay further than a mile and for me his current price of 10/1 on Betfair sportsbook for the mile and a half Derby trip makes some nice each-way appeal.

Another that’s a big price from the Aiden O’Brien is The Pentagon. I’m of the impression he will improve over the Derby trip based on his previous races to date and given his pedigree could attract money in the weeks leading up to the Derby on June 2nd.

So there’s two each-ways against the current market favourite Saxon Warrior if he goes for this instead of the 2000 Guineas.

Until next week!
