Empty Quality Street wrappers thrown back in the tin… all the best chocs taken from the top and bottom rows of Milk Tray… and the same old jokes told over and over again can only mean one thing…
I have annoying relatives.
Oh yes, and of course… it is (pretty much) Christmas! If I hear ‘Driving Home for Christmas’ one more time I think I’ll save up and buy the rights to the record and withhold it from airplay from every radio station in the country!
Despite my grumpy rant, I do like the festive season. Can you imagine a whole winter without this mid-season break?
It isn’t all rest over Christmas though for us bettors and traders as there’s the great spectacle of the King George to look forward to on Boxing Day.
Last year I tipped the winner of the race for Betting Doctor readers as being Cue Card… and what a gutsy display that was. Cue Card takes his place again this year, only this time he is placed head of the market at 11/8 generally.
This is far too short a price for me – and I would be surprised if the gutsy Cue Card can repeat last year’s performance.
I feel Cue Card may well have had his day and this year I can’t see further than his stablemate Thistlecrack for my main bet, with maybe a small each-way on Outlander at around 10/1.
Both can be backed with SkyBet in the ‘Non Runner No Bet’ market – so best of luck with that one.
Testing Pod update
The Draw selections are still in profit as I write, with only three losing days out of eleven.
In fairness, this has been a slow period, with a few ‘No Bet’ days due to Christmas. We usually have selections every day.
So do keep an eye on the Testing Pod, as this strategy has been shown to have winning runs of six or seven broken by the odd loser and then another good winning run.

Final week of our trial updates…
That 10 weeks flew by – and I now have the final week’s results for both the Low Hanging Profits and Fantastic Eights trials. How did they both finish up? Find out by clicking on the links: Low Hanging Profits and Fantastic Eights.
This will be last Betting Doctor newsletter until Wednesday 4th January, so that just leaves me to say a huge thanks for reading over the last year and I wish you and all your family a very happy Christmas and peaceful New Year!
